Thrapston seemed to take an age to get going in this league game. The shorter sticky pitch didnt give a lot of space in the middle of the park, but once the Warriors managed to find some, and start playing the ball, chances were created. To be fair, the first 2 or 3 were spurned with some very ordinary finishing, although once the first went in, the confidence rose, and Thrapston hitman Peter Beverley bagged himself a first half hattrick alongside great strikes from Joe Blackman and Ben Vitue. At the start of the second half, Earls Barton were getting more men behind the ball, and started to play on the break. The Thrapston defence dealt with everything, and were driven forward to support the assault more. Pressure came from corners and throw ins, and it wasn't long before Ewan Hope got himself on the scoresheet 1,2,3 times to end his goal drought before next weeks clash.
All in all, a good performance all round the park, lots of goals, clean sheet and back on track for the hard games coming in the next 3 weeks.
Thanks to our hosts Earls Barton - Kept going to the final whistle
Man of Match - Joe Blackman - Improving every week and a top drawer goal. Well Done.
